2012 Season - Week 23

We are just a month away from Free Agency, but don’t expect Joe Flacco to be the biggest Free Agent available. He is scheduled to be a Free Agent but The Ravens have said they are ready to pay top dollar to the Superbowl MVP. That will leave very few interesting QBs but Running Backs who could be available include Cedric Benson, Ahmad Bradshaw, Reggie Bush, Shonn Greene, Steven Jackson and Rashard Mendenhall with Wide Receivers Dwayne Bowe, Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace and Wes Welker all at contracts end. 2012 All-BUMS kicker Jason Hanson, Rob Bironas and Lawrence Tynes may all be available on the market as well come mid-March. Franchise Players 2013-2014 As is the norm you’ll select your Franchise player after the NFL Draft and majority of free agency as I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June. You’ll be giving up the player that you franchised two years ago though some have been cut due to injury or as they failed to live up to their owners expectations. Meanwhile franchise players becoming available include QBs Tom Brady, Drew Brees & Joe Flacco, RB Arian Foster and receivers Calvin Johnson, Hakeem Nicks and Mike Williams. BUMS Medals Table Well this season did start in the afterglow of the London Olympics so I thought I’d have a quick look at who leads the BUMS medal table. Gold for winning the Papas Fritas Tophy, Silver for Runner-Up and Bronze for a third place finish, these gongs only go to those playing in the highest league in Fantasy Football. After 18 season’s Johnnie leads with 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze (for a total of 11 medals). Wayne is second with 3-0-2 (after joining in 2001). Chief is third 2-5-2, Mark fourth 2-1-2 and 2012 winner Daz is fifth 2-0-0. 15 BUMS owners have medaled with 11 winning a gold. See attached.
